Woocommerce causing CPU spike on server

We’ve been doing some testing and find that our CPU usage on our website spikes whenever we’re editing products on our website. We’ve been working with our hosting provider, who has been looking at our site in general and it seems woocommerce is one of the issues for an increase in resource when working in the backend. Please can you help us resolve this as we don’t seem to be the only ones? Also, we’re a multi-vendor website and use YITH multi-vendor plugin. This means we can have backend usage with more than one admin at a time, so this spike issue definitely needs sorting for our site, otherwise we will not have many people wanting to use our site!

We’ve not had such issues until recent updates of woocommerce. So any further help would be much appreciated. I see your site has a WP Memory limit of 256MB. Can you please increase that to 1024MB and see if that helps?
If that doesn’t work then this is likely caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
The best way to determine if the issue is being caused by a theme and/or plugin is to temporarily switch your theme to Storefront and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. Finally, test to see if the issue is resolved.
To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, continue to the next step – reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

Hi there, I’ve spoken to our hosting and this is what they say about the memory increase:
In our previous tests, we have tried this, but it is leading only to more performance issues as a big chunk of memory is allocated by one process and leading to a bottle neck in the resource usage. At that point we don’t recommend to set more than 256-512MB for the memory_limit

A similar issue was solved by clearing transients. Can you please try that?
WooCommerce transients can be cleared from “WooCommerce > Status > Tools” area.
I’ve upped our memory to 1Gb and have cleared the transients. What are transients? We’ll monitor performance and get back to this thread. We find the site struggled when we’re editing products i.e. variations etc.
