• I’ve searched for an answer – but nothing has helped resolve a 550 SMTP error I am receiving with WP Woocommerce.

I have woocommerce, along with WP Mail SMTP, and a logger. Sending test emails with woocommerce and Mail SMTP work just fine. However, regular emails (new orders, etc) consistently returns with the SMTP 550 error.

I’ve checked my settings, email settings and host for inconsistencies with nothing. The woocommerce emails are enabled. I am using an AOL email account with (WP Mail SMTP lite) set with smtp.aol.com, TLS, Port 587, Authenticated, and the pesky AOL generated password.

It’s weird that the test emails all work, but the actual emails return with this error. Any ideas?

Heads up! The last email your site attempted to send was unsuccessful.

    Hi @emilygraceh4,

I appreciate you jumping in with a clear breakdown of common 550 causes and practical fixes, especially around aligning the From address, SPF, and DKIM, template resets, and considering a dedicated SMTP provider. Your contribution will help @mayhem1328 and other user experiencing same narrow things down much faster. Thanks for taking the time to share your insight with the community.

Thank you for the help. I am already using a WP SMTP plugin with forced from options.

I’m using Elementor as well and I’m wondering if this has something to do with it. From my contact page I do receive an email – however the content section just says “(all-information)” – instead of the actual message.

Using an authenticated password through aol and not my normal password. And not using bulk or spammy looking content. It’s strange that the tests all go through… but actual does not. Frustrating.

    Hi @mayhem1328,

Thank you for following up. As my colleague suggested, please open a new topic in the WooCommerce core forum and feel free to share the link here so we can continue the discussion, since this forum is specifically for the Storefront theme.
