• I got a faulty order completion that probably interacted with me clearing the cache (but can’t be sure).

    I use Woocommerce

On order completion, in the admin order view, the list of products show two columns of the same VAT type. Shipping costs and info are shown twice. And most importantly, the total amount is set without VAT.

I use this plug-in only for a view days, but did not see this before with other orders, so I guess and hope this is a RACE condition.

Can this be confirmed and solved?

are you using a geo-location plugin?

I use the EU VAT plug-in. But this order is from a domestic private customer.

I don’t think I use a geo-location plug-in, but I have selected in the woocommerce settings to use geolocation for default client location. That uses the MaxMindGeoLite database it seems.

are you sure that it is compatible with the cache plugins?

You mean the EU VAT plug-in? Or the mentioned woocommerce setting?

What’s interesting is that I changed from W3 total cache to wp fastest plug-in and never had this issue with W3 total cache.

yes, I mean that the EU VAT plug-in. All caching plugins work the same. but if you do not have any problem with W3, you should continue with W3.

I can’t find any relevant mention about caching in the EU VAT support threads.

    Plugin Author Emre Vona

    (@emrevona)

don’t they support the cache plugins?

    Thread Starter rruyter

    (@rruyter)

Can’t be sure. No info on there website. No google hits about caching issues with the plug-in and no response yet on question on their support.

But have you seen issues with geo-location before. And if so, how was that solved and do you think a similar approach could work.?

    Plugin Author Emre Vona

    (@emrevona)

the solution is disabling the geo-location plugin.

Ah, I see. We need something to handle VAT of non domestic customers. Do you know of any plug-in like that, that would be compatible with your plug-in?

Then I saw that I can also exclude caching if the cookie indicates woocommerce_items_in_cart. Would that help? Especially in the case I have to keep on using the EU VAT plug-in?

    really I don’t know.

can you try and let me know please?

Ill give it a try and post back when more is known about exclude caching if the cookie indicates woocommerce_items_in_cart.

Just got info back from the EU VAT plug-in reps:
    —-
The EU VAT Assistant doesn’t interact with any caching plugins and is not aware of any of them, because it doesn’t need to. In any case, caching seems to be an unlikely cause, because the page elements don’t get duplicated just because there’s a caching plugin running. The issue probably stems from somewhere else which might be firing the same event twice and displaying duplicate elements.
    —-

So they claim to not be part of this issue.
