I am running WordPress v5.9.3 on PHP 7.2.34 (also tried 7.3, which is the latest version offered by 123-reg).

Having used the site for a while, I installed WooCommerce using the install plugin option, so that is the latest version. I noticed that WooCommerce payments was not working with this version – I just got a white screen or 500 error when I tried to access the settings page for WooCommerce Payments.

I installed WooCommerce PayPal payments and it seemed to work.

However, I then noticed that when I look at my posts, the titles are displayed in a single character wide column and when I edit a post, I get a critical failure error.

Running troubleshooting, it is WooCommerce and none of the other plugins causing this – as with all other plugins disabled, if I disable WooCommerce, I can edit the posts without problems, but as soon as I enable WooCommerce, the same issue occurs.

Hmm – having enabled WP_DEBUG, it looks as though PHP is running out of memory with WooCommerce enabled!

    Hi @rwap

If this is the case, and if you’re running WordPress 5.2 or later, go over to Tools > Site Health in your Dashboard.

Under the Info tab, you’ll see your PHP memory limit. In most cases (for almost 99% of the hosting companies) the limit is around 256MB.

If it’s already set fairly high, one of your plugins might just be broken.

However, if you find it’s very low, you’ll need to increase it, and I’d recommend checking out with your hosting company what’s the best options in this case.

If everything fails, share with us your debug messages and also a copy of your site’s System Status.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.

Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response with your wp_debug messages.

I hope it helps! My very best,

Having gone through the various installed plugins, I have tracked the issue as being the JetPack plugin – once that was deactivated, there does not appear to be any issue with WooCommerce.

I guess JetPack is no longer compatible for some reason

    Hello @rwap!

I guess JetPack is no longer compatible for some reason

I suspect there is some other factor that is causing the issue.
Have you tried increasing your WordPress memory limit? Here is how you can do that. → https://woocommerce.com/document/increasing-the-wordpress-memory-limit

If the issue persists then please share your WooCommerce error logs and System Status on this thread so we can take a look at your configuration and check the issue further:

System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Error Log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m marking this thread as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
