    Hi All,

I have been trying to setup a shop on my website using the Woocommerce plugin.

I thought it best to do this on a staging site first and so I setup a wp-staging clone.

However everytime I activate the woocommerce plugin my whole site goes down.

Eventually it comes back but I have to change the plugin directory names in order to use wordpress again.

I found this error message in my CPanel:

  • Hi there David,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Can you please advise if you receive the same error if you first disable all other plugins, switch your theme to Storefront, and only then enable WooCommerce core?

This will help determine if the issue is caused by a conflict with your theme or another plugin: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

    Cheers!

    Hello Elvira,

The issue occurs when I enable WooCommerce on my wp-staging site so yes there does appear to be a conflict.

Would you like me to disable all plugin and change the theme then enable woocommerce on the staging site?

    Thanks,
    David

    Hi there @socialresponsibility,

Yes, please! This is a good test to find out if any existing code is conflicting on your staging.

Let me know how that goes!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

Hello, after much investigation it seems it was because our hosting provider GoDaddy wasn’t assigning us sufficinent resources. For others out there this is definitely something to check and also I would not recommend going with GoDaddy as they end up more expensive to run an eCommerce site than some of the competition.
