• I am a paramedic instructor at a local university and am setting up a wordpress video subscription site.

You can see my current site at http://www.thatemsguy.com.

No critiques yet, I am still putting it all together.

My question is, what is the best option for selling subscriptions to videos. I basically want a set of videos on pages that my subscribers can watch to help them get through paramedic school. They will pay a monthly fee and can cancel at any time. I am looking at woo commerce with the groups and subscriptions extensions, but that is $279 and I am wondering if there is a cheaper alternative or if this is the better option.

The theme I am using for my site is “Stratos”, purchased from rochettheme.

    Thank you in advance.

  • You may want to look at a membership plug in, like s2member which offers a pretty comprehensive way of managing membership subscriptions and protecting content.

Another option would be to use an e-learning platform where you could expand your material beyond the videos to include quizes/exams, certificates, etc.

TalentLMS has a WordPress plugin that integrates with the platform allowing users to register, view course listings, etc.

They have 2 plan types, with the second being the one for online courses:

Thank you of the replies. I will look into the LMS more, I hadn’t heard of that before until you brought it up.
