    Hi,

Whenever new version are released and I try to update Woocommerce by clicking the button “Update” in admin (I only run a very small shop at the moment, with almost no orders) it stalls every time, leaving the Woocommerce folder with only a few files.

I guess this has to do with the web hosting being to “slow” (I really don’t know what’ve happened, it worked a couple of months ago).

I have solved this by simply downloading the Woocommerce plugin from here and upload the files in the plugin folder, replacing those few files created during the update.

Is this the correct approach? Or does the update involve some others tasks as well?

The database update is done separately I think? Whenever it notifies about it in the back office?

    Thanks in advance,

    Best regards,

Do anyone know if I may have broken my Woocommerce installation by doing this? Just replacing the Woocommerce folder in the plugin directory?

    Best regards,

There are several reasons you may have update issues. You can check your site logs for more info. See https://pagely.com/blog/wordpress-logs-track-errors-guide/

Nonetheless, it’s fine to manually replace the WooCommerce folder with a new one. Your data is stored in the database so it’s not an issue

Hopefully, you were able to find a way forward with the issue. I’m going to mark the thread as resolved. Feel free to create a new topic if you need assistance with anything else.
