woocommerce variable product not working

hello

i have recently updated word-press and woo-commerce.
i have updated all the woo-commerce templates as advised but now the variable product is not working.
when i select new variable product i just get an egg timer and it will not load.
also when i try to change another variable product and select attributes i get the same issue and same for variations.

any ideas what i can do to resolve this.

please be aware i and very new to this and learning from scratch.
