Hi @optoslam, thanks for reaching out to us.
I don’t have any previous cases to note about Latepoint, so have you tried the usual allowlist routes in the plugin? If not, Learning Mode can help allow normal plugin operations if the loading of any files are being blocked as a false-positive.
From the Wordfence Dashboard click on Manage WAF. Then you will see Basic Firewall Options > Web Application Firewall Status. Change the option to Learning Mode. Now visit the page(s) causing issues to teach Wordfence what’s happening is normal and should be allowed in future. After you have finished, switch the WAF from Learning Mode back to Enabled and Protecting.
If that doesn’t work, check your Live Traffic page for any block lines that appear immediately after loading a page that doesn’t seem to be loading assets properly. You can click the block line (or “eye” icon) to expand it, where the red text should tell you the cause. You’ll often get an “ADD PARAM TO FIREWALL ALLOWLIST” button in this section to allow the blocked assets in future.
Let me know what you find out!
Peter.
Hi, thanks for the answer!
I did try the learn mode shortly, bit it did not seem to make any difference. Maybe I should go back and forth between different pages few times and see if that’s better?
Live traffic did not seem to indicate any blocked lines or maybe I’m just blind and can’t see it.
I’ll give it another go during this week and see if anything changes. If not are there any ways to get one-off support from Wordfence?
Hi @optoslam,
I would certainly keep Learning Mode on while trying all possible routes in the Latepoint plugin to allowlist everything that could possibly be triggering a block. If you’re not getting any Live Traffic activity at the same time as seeing blocks in the plugin though, it does point towards possibly something else like a conflict. Wordfence will log all blocks it has made, even if they’re down to your settings rather than a specific rule.
You can test for a conflict by disabling all plugins except Latepoint and Wordfence, along with reverting to a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Three. If things seem to work fine under these conditions, re-enable your theme and other plugins one-by-one until you start to see problems again.
Thanks,
Peter.
