    Dear support,

We do have couple of questions/ issues we need to address.

    1. We did installed wordfence to our wordpress websites.
Furtnermore, one of our websites google captcha didnt seem to work and wordfence was still logging failed login activities.

    2. Secondly a member of the website was blocked out and couldnt get back in. We did try to unblock him but he was not listed in the blocklist. Is this a bug you need to fix?

  • Hi @darko22,

    1. Wordfence uses WordPress’ login function to log/lockout login attempts. You will want to check with your reCaptcha admin dashboard to see why it is not working.

    2. It’s possible that their IP address was blocked by the security network. Can you go into Wordfence -> All Options, and disable Participate in the Wordfence Security Network?

    About question #1.

I just want to clarify and rephrase my issue.

I have installed google captcha plugin and i have activated it. That plugin is working as expected and as it should <recaptcha v3 in the wp-login.php file etc>.

My question is, how is it possible Wordfence to log failed logins even with recaptcha enabled? The image below shows failed logins from bots. The username doesnt exist

    Hi again,

It means that the bot is getting through the captcha, or that the captcha is not set up properly.

I have some recommendations that you can try:

    1. Go to Wordfence -> All Options
    2. Scroll down until you find Brute Force Protection
    3. Set Lock out after how many login failures to5`
    4. Check off Immediately lock out invalid usernames
