• Getting a WordFence warning about modified files in the Hide My WP Ghost Lite plugin version 5.0.16.

I have 5.0.16 installed but the files on ww.wp.xz.cn are different.

I have looked at the file differences and the ones on ww.wp.xz.cn have additional code blocks that my installed version doesn’t have…even though they are the same version numbers.

    For Instance:
In the settings.php file on the repository it has a //whitelist ip section. Whereas the installed version does not.

In the Rewrite.php file there is an OR section || HMWP_Classes_Tools:: section added in the repository that isn’t there in the installed version.

    and the list goes on.

None of it looks malicious, but how does this disconnect happen? And how do I fix it?

    Hi there,

There are some updates in the plugin that are not added as a new version yet.
This is what Wordfence noticed. A way to clear the notification is to download the HMWP Ghost plugin from WordPress again and to add it at Plugins > Add New and replace the current version.
This way you get the latest version updates of the plugin.
Or you can wait until tomorrow when we add a new version to the plugin.
