Wordfence failed to detect 2 plugins and a theme that have updates available. Not a timing issue because the vendor notified me so I went to check. All sites had been scanned already today but I scanned them anyway. No outdated items were found by the scan but when I clicked on updates in the Dashboard, all were flagged. Three of 4 of my WordPress sites were affected. On one website some of the outdated plugins (but not all) were detected in a scan that had just run minutes before I logged in. The plugins and theme are from Thrive Themes.I am running Win10 and using Firefox on a Toshiba Laptop.

Could this be due to a lag between the time the Thrive folks told customers like me about the updates, and when they actually posted them with WordPress?

  • Hi Terry,
What you mentioned about the lag between when you get the notification from the plugin author and when they “actually” published the update on WordPress repository could be a possible reason, another reason could be the time WordPress servers take until the new version spread all over them and be accessible to all users.

Just not to forget that these plugins/themes must be published on the official WordPress repository so Wordfence can detect any version updated related to them.

P.S. it will be helpful if you can tell me which plugins/themes exactly wasn’t detected so I can try replicating this issue.

    Thanks.
