    Hi,
When I test the performance of my site using gtmetrix, I go to the Waterfall tab, I see the following request that takes 2.03 seconds!
    See a screenshot here: https://prnt.sc/j03uhs

This is detrimental to my site’s performance, and possibly to all of Wordfence users (!).

I understand that this request is meant to distinguish between humans and bots, but 2 seconds??
A suggestion to the Wordfence team – perhaps this request should by asynchronous so that it doesn’t delay the rest of the requests..? I don’t know if what I just said made sense, since the purpose is to the test for bots, but just food for thought.

Is anybody else also experiences this?
Does anybody know if my Wordfence is perhaps misconfigured?

    Thanks!

  • Indeed, 2 seconds !? Has to be a misconfiguration of Wordfence, or something about your software stack that doesn’t like Wordfence. I’ve done extensive speed testing of Wordfence, using GTmetrix and have never seen anything significant. MTN

Update: this is happening ONLY on the FRONT PAGE of the site, that is, https://hakolmutzar.co

Also, the site is hosted on bluehost, is a sub-site of another wordpress site. Does this affect anything?

    Thanks!

I gave up and disabled the Live Traffic and WordFence cookies features, and the request I was seeing isn’t happening any more. Yay!

    Good job!

    Hi @aaagever
You are correct that this script is used to differentiate between human and bots visits, but it’s an ajax request not an external one. It shouldn’t take that much time for sure. It could be that you have any plugin or tool that is affecting JS code? because I couldn’t recognize that &r=0.248..... at the end of the request, this isn’t related to Wordfence.

Disabling Live Traffic will not call that script at all.

    Thanks.
