Hi @koullis,
Thank you for flagging this. There was a short-lived issue during the Jetpack 15.5 release where some version labels were not fully aligned, which could trigger Wordfence “modified file” warnings.
This has now been corrected on our side and there’s no security issue involved. Once Wordfence refreshes its file signatures or you run a fresh scan, the warning should clear.
Could you please let us know if the warning is still showing after a new scan?
@alinclamba hi thank you for your reply.
just made a new scan and still shows the warnings
Hello @koullis – Could you please uninstall the Jetpack plugin, then reinstall a fresh copy from the Plugins → Add New section of the WP Admin Dashboard, and run a new scan to check if that resolves the issue?
If the issue persists, could you please share a screenshot of the message you are getting from Wordfence and also please let us know whether you’re using the free or paid version of Wordfence? As the free version receives signature updates with a 30-day delay, as noted in their plan details.

Slack/C1T3N5AMR/p1770193184662039@bizanimesh hi im using free version of wordfence so ill have to wait 30d to not be found as problematic unless you release a new update which will overwrite it and be ok.
Hi @koullis –
Did you uninstall Jetpack and then reinstall it? That should result in a new version of the Jetpack plugin being loaded, which should clear out the messages in Wordfence once you run a new scan.
If that doesn’t work, please share a screenshot here so that we can take a look.
Hi there, @koullis,
Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
@lastsplash @erania-pinnera hi sorry for late reply. i prefer to wait out for wordfence signature update or plugin update as i dont want to uninstall//reinstall to avoid messing any settings

Likely you will need to open another thread, so we’ll try to keep it open 🙂 But thanks for being considerate!
Hey @koullis,
Friendly reminder on whether to keep this thread open or not – I guess the update isn’t published yet?
@erania-pinnera yes unfortunately signatures still not updated from wordfence so is still picked up
Hi @koullis,
Thanks for letting us know! We’ll keep the thread open, feel free to update us once you’ve run a new scan after the signatures refresh.
