Indeed, it is incredibly slow. Trying to get to the bottom of this…
As usual, the problem is a plug-in: more fields, in this case.
it is, because the plug-in is outdated, i guess?
Strangely it was said to be up to date for 2.7. Not sure what the problem is and frankly I just fell back on rc-custom-gui since I don’t have time to sort it out.
I have a webhotel with five domains at the same server.
One running with Drupal loads fast and no problems, three running WordPress 2.7 and it is very slow – both in admin and at frontend. Takes between 3-7 secs to load. Pages are very small (below 10 kb) and I have 2-3 plugins installed. It does not matter wich theme I use – standard or another – it is still slow.
I tried install DB cache and it seemed to help a little, but now it is all back to status quo again. Have tried clear cache etc. no luck.
The server runs PHP 5.2.2
Apache/1.3.37 (Unix) Sun-ONE-ASP/4.0.2 PHP/5.2.2 mod_throttle/3.1.2 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_psoft_traffic/0.2 mod_ssl/2.8.28 OpenSSL/0.9.6b
MySQL 4.1.15
I have tried a lot of what is suggested in this topic and others as well, without any luck so far.
It seems that either there are a lot of webservers not being able to run WP 2.7. smothly or WP 2.7. is just very slow for some unknown reason?
Any clues?
