WordPress 3.1.2 Direct Update/Automatic DL and Install

    How long does it take to download and install ww.wp.xz.cn files when you update from their sit? Cause it’s taking long and no progress bars are displayed to let you know how much has been updated so far and how much left to go. I don’t want to lose my existing files but I think I may have to use my FTP client but when I copy the new files will I lost existing data and posts and pic. Will the new extracted files overwrite my blog entries so far? I have backed up. so don’t worry. Please help!

    About a minute or so. Times will vary according to server loads.

    will I lost existing data and posts and pic.

    Not as long as you do not over-write the wp-content folder. Most of your content is stored in your database.

    I’m getting the same issue where it just sits there and doesn’t install. It should update by clicking “Update Automatically” right?

    I’m using 1and1 for my host
