I am running a subfolder mutisite network with “Membership 2” v4.0.1.2 installed. One of my sites is called /blog/ which is fully locked down. Any requests are set to go to the page: /blog/protected/. When I upgraded from WordPress 4.6.1 to 4.7 any unauthorized request get stuck in a redirect loop on page /blog/protected/. Downgrading to 4.6.1 resolves the redirection issues. I assumed this is a bug. Anyone else seeing this?

    Hello @austinginder,

Would you please give us more information about your installation so we could try and replicate it.

Is the Membership 2 is network activated? How is the /blog/ subsite protected within the Membership plugin? Is it protected with the “URL Protection” add-on?

Would you please try to resave your permalinks and try again? Can you replicate the same issue with all the other plugins deactivated?

    Please advise,

    Cheers,
    Nastia

I ended up replacing Membership 2 with a much simpler plugin call My Private Site. Sorry not going to be able to assist in troubleshooting this issue. Going to mark this issue resolved.
