WordPress 4.01 zip installed old Akisment version 3.02

    Just used the zip file on your site to manually update my wordpress from 4.0 to 4.0.1. I’d recently updated to the latest Akismet plugin 3.03 though wasn’t using it. The version of Akismet after the upgrade is back to 3.02. Any particular reason for the reversion?

    Hi,

    It’s because akismet comes bundled with WordPress, and the current version bundled when the new WordPress version was built was at 3.0.2.

    You’re not the only one that noticed this, and it’s been mentioned for discussion if this behavior should be changed with future releases or not (I can’t say if it will at this time though).
