• Hi everyone,

Let me start by saying that in no way, shape or form am I a WordPress expert. I am not the admin – I am simply one of the writers of a website called http://www.boredbug.com and I use boredbug.com/wp-admin to write my posts and edit them. That’s all I really have to deal with.

However, for the last 3 or 4 days I happen to be the only writer on the site to be experiencing these problems. Every time I try to add a new post, I’m unable to write in the visual box. I can see the title bar just fine, but can’t enter any text or access the ‘Header 1’ and all the rest of it. I borrowed another laptop (connected to the same WiFi connection) and although WordPress was extremely slow, I still managed to add new posts and edit them for a couple of days. Now, this has stopped working, too.

My boss seems to think it’s something to do with my network connection, but I’m not so sure. The errors that keep appearing when I run JavaScript console are:

    1. Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘hasClass’ of undefined
    2. failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404
    3. Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 524 (Origin Time-out)
    4. Failed to load resource: net::ERR_INCOMPLETE_CHUNKED_ENCODING

Bearing in mind that NONE of the other writers are having any of these problems. Do you guys think it’s something to do with my connection? Would really appreciate it if someone could help me, because I don’t know what to do and this is my job on the line.

    Thanks for reading,
    Lauren

  • Can you head for the nearest Starbucks and try it?

    Hi,

I’ll try, but I really don’t think it’s anything to do with my connection. Everything else is working fine on my laptop, and the other ones I’ve tried. It’s just WordPress with the problem. Maybe it’s server related?

Let me point out once again that I’m a complete newbie at all this, haha.

Thank you for your suggestion, though. Do you have any idea what those error messages mean?

    Thanks πŸ™‚

This is why I suggested Starbuckies.

I happen to be the only writer on the site to be experiencing these problems.

That would seem to rule out a server error.

    Have you tried:
-deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
-switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

Thanks for your advice – much appreciated.

I’m just a writer on the site, and don’t really know much about WordPress. It’s my boss who deals with the plug-ins and that kind of thing. Would I be able to de-activate plug ins and change themes? If so, could you please tell me how?

Right. Never mind that as that would effect all of you.

Ok… so what should I do?

FYI I just tried another WiFi connection, and it’s not working. πŸ™

This worked and then stopped with the same errors?
