• Apparently 100’s if not 1000’s of users are experiencing a glitch with the WordPress 5.5 update. There are many plugins that have been rendered useless with this new version. One specifically is wpBakery and its “Backend” options have just disappeared for many users and no one has been able to get any support or a fix.

  • Try the temporary fix suggested here:

    No guarantees, but it worked for me.

    I got a number of warnings that look like this (after installing the plug-in):
    …/plugins/wpsmart-mobile/admin/js/wps-admin.js: jQuery.fn.live() is deprecated
    …/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ajax/static/ajax.min.js: jQuery.fn.unload() is deprecated
    …/plugins/w3-total-cache/pub/js/options.js: jQuery.fn.size() is deprecated; use the .length property

    So, it looks like my plug-ins will need to be updated.

    Thanks, anyway.
    JB

    Warnings, yes, but the plug-ins do work!
