• Hi Guys,

I am new to WordPress and have been learning by watching Udemy video from late 2015 and the instructor had an option in her admin menu which was Types which allowed her to select a import / export option of csv / xml file.

I am trying to follow along but don’t have this option anywhere in my WordPress admin menu so I couldn’t follow what she was doing I have included a screen of the types menu in her WordPress.

Hoping someone might be able to explain why I don’t have this option.

    Thanks

    Brent

  • Hi Brent – Types is not part of the default WordPress installation. Most likely it is a plugin that is creating the new menu item and is used to create Custom Post Types.

I took a look to see which plugin it might be but didn’t locate it. The one I thought it could be creates a new menu item called Toolset rather than Types.

Under Tools you will have an import / export option.

they have a plugin installed that adds those options and you don’t. Hopefully they mentioned it in the video and you just missed it. If not, you may want to see if it s mentioned in the comments (if they have any) and/or submit a query to them.
