    Hi all,

I’m having trouble using the WordPress Android App when the All In One WP Security (AIO WP Security) plugin is enabled on my site. The app fails to connect.

I’ve tried basic troubleshooting like checking internet connectivity, reinstalling the app, clearing cache, and disabling other plugins, but the issue persists. AIO WP Security is crucial for my site’s security, and I heavily rely on the Android app for mobile management.

Anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions or known workarounds would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi @gorsek1

It might be REST API not allowed and app miht be connecting wordpress with it. cross check disabling the 1st option?

Also please try disable if enabled following other settings one by one it is mostly issue with other plugins / services

    1) REST API – WP Security > Miscellaneous > WP REST API Can you please cross check the Disallow unauthorized REST requests:
    2) Deny bad query string – WP Security > Firewall > Addition firewall rules tab. Deny bad query strings: uncheck the checkbox and save
    3) Advanced char filter – WP Security > Firewall > Addition firewall rules tab. Enable advanced character string filter :uncheck the checkbox and save
    4) 5g firewall rules – WP Security > Firewall > 6G Blacklist firewall rules tab. Enable legacy 5G firewall protection uncheck the checkbox and save
    5) 6g firewall rules – WP Security > Firewall > 6G Blacklist firewall rules tab. Enable 6G firewall rules – uncheck the checkbox and save

Checked all the mentioned options they were all unchecked.

Is there a way to add a rule to the firewall to not block the wordpress android app?

when i want to connect it says: cant connect xml-rpc methods are missing on the server.
    But the option is unchecked.

    Hi @gorsek1

It is hard to say which rule is affecting. If your site do not have problem but for app If it is.. and still such issue not raised do you have got build custom android app or with any service which makes app from website directly if yes please let me know. I can try replicate the issue if possible.

How app try access the website content needs to know if it is using ajax then WP security > brute force > cookie based brute force tab should have ajax enabled, Also if app is using XML RPC then it will be inside the WP Security > Firewall > Basic firewall rules tab > Completely block access to XMLRPC should not be on Also on the same page Disable RSS and ATOM feeds: is there please try disable that.

If still issue you have to try disable one by one other option mainly WP Security > Firewall and should cross check.
