• I want to use a multi-user WordPress installation but primarily as CMS not as a blogging tool. It is meant to be a vertical site meant for designers, artists and photographers to have a profile page each and a connected image gallery showcasing their portfolio. Blogging will be disabled or fairly limited. How can I achieve this?

Can WordPress Mu coupled with a image gallery module/plugin solve my problem or do I need some other CMS solution? I am fairly new to CMS and PHP but a fast learner with help.

  • Why not just use a CMS like Drupal?

Thanks. Am looking into Drupal and Joomla as well. Just wanted to find an option that will be the least painful customizing, but with the most features as well.

I have been looking at Drupal for a community web, but the ability to include mutliple images within a page using a simple editor is extremely limited. Far less user friendly than WordPress. This rules out Drupal for most non-technical users.

I looked at Drupal, Joomla, and WordPress as a CMS for my AD&D rpg website.

I went with WP as I found the documentation easier for me to follow. And the site easier to impliment.

Hi I had thought of using wordpress as a CMS and found this article on Matts blog

the 2nd Links describes how he went about to make WordPress a CMS system
