WordPress automatic update not working

    Hello,

    I am using wordpress 3.0.1 and now i am unable to upgrade to WordPress 3.0.4 using automatic upgrade.
    I gave my FTP details correctly and the page hangs in this screen

    Downloading update from http://ww.wp.xz.cn/wordpress-3.0.4.zip…
Unpacking the update…

    No further response is seen. I tried it many times but no use. Also plugins do not udgrade.

    I changed the chmod of wp-content/upgrade/ to 777 but still no use. Any suggestions ?

    Sometimes it times out when your server doesnt like the size of the package, also people with pureFTP on their server have had this problem.

    Do a manual upgrade. Sucks, but it works.
