I noticed a few days ago when trying to edit posts in WordPress, my site was hanging for minutes, eventually throwing out a 504 Gateway Error. After spending hours with my developer to see what the issue was, we disabled Rank Math and instantly the backend started working as normal.

My developer seems to think it’s a problem with javascript but we can’t quite figure it out since it isn’t throwing out errors.

Edit: The version of WP is 6.9.4 and Rankmath is Version 1.0.268, I’m also running WP-Rocket as a plugin.

    Hello @mechanicvirus,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

Please check your site’s PHP and server error logs and let us know if you see any errors related to our plugin. If there are no errors, please install the Query Monitor plugin, enable Rank Math, and let us know if there are any slow queries from our plugin. You can use a tool like imgur.com to share screenshots of the errors and slow queries.

    Looking forward to helping you.

I will check. My developer also had a question, does it matter much if the site has 43,000 posts? Would that play a hand in slowing anything down?

    Hello @mechanicvirus,

Yes, having 43,000 posts can affect performance, especially for database queries, sitemaps, indexing, and backend processes if the hosting/server resources aren’t strong enough. Rank Math is built to handle large sites well, but overall speed also depends a lot on your hosting, theme, plugins, and database optimization.

    Looking forward to helping you.
