I’ve recently updated WordPress and found a new editor called blocks. Seems simple enough but when I view my work, some blocks go all the way across the page and some stop midway.

How do I control this? Just plugging in content and I get random paragraphs of each.
    Thank you!
    Laurence

  • Hello Laurence,

Could you add a link to the page please? I’d love to help but need to get an idea of what is being applied to those objects.

    Thanks Graham!
As you can see the first paragraph runs the full length while the next paragraph stops half way.

Sorry Graham, The site is a membership site so the page doesn’t show unless you are logged in. I can replicate it here.

The first paragraph runs across the page as it should without any special limitations until it reaches the right margin and then starts a new line.

    While the next paragraph
only goes half way and then
returns to a new line. How
    Can this be controlled?

All I did was copy and paste from a word document. Could that be what is causing it? If so, then how do I remove it or how can I change it. I really appreciate any help on this as I’m wishing I hadn’t updated since the old version of Worpress was working fine.

    Cheers!

Hey @laurence1321, could you add a screenshot?

Ok, I got it. The old editor didn’t copy word document junk but this new editor does. So I have to get rid of the junk via an added step. But the editor is so simple that it will save time overall.

    Thanks for your help!

Try holding SHIFT when you paste. So on Windows, it’s SHIFT-CTRL-V. That usually will paste without formatting, so should paste without that “word document junk”.
