wordpress broken after 2.8.4 install

hey all. i’ve just installed wordpress 2.8.4 by ftping all of it except wp-content to my website…
after doing so, when i go to the /wp-login i get a header error message…
it seems to be coming from all in one seo… so i would like to know if it is possible to remove that plugin without being able to access the WP dashboard… i think that deleting just the plugin the plugins folder might not do it…
