WordPress community?

I could swear there used to be a WP release that would let you run blogs on your server similar to WordPress.com where people could sign up and get their own blog etc? … I’m working on a corporate site where the company would like to be able to issue blogs to employees hosted on the corporate domain.

I remember seeing an offering like this in the past here on WP.org but can’t seem to locate it now.

Any help would be massively helpful! Thanks!
