WordPress dashboard formatting problem when plugin activated

    I cannot reproduce the problem. It could be caused by a conflict with another plugin. I have tested the plugin on several servers and use it with lots of other plugins and have never experienced the icons disappearing.

    One more idea: If you use a caching plugin, you could simply try to empty the cache. (Just noticed the yellow box on your screenshots which is not from the Tag Groups plugin.)
