Isn’t one supposed to backup their database BEFORE upgrading, eliminating the need for a kind of script like this? 😉
Kidding of course though as I bet plenty of people didn’t follow the instructions and backup. 🙂
You probably should backup, but you know, there’s a number of people who never do, so scripts like this have their place.
And will be gratefully accepted, no doubt. Good job. 🙂
Well, instead of the user is stupid, how about the user is doing the best he or she can. In my case, on a remote server, a backup is created.
Restoring prior versions of the program AND the database requires considerable skills. Without referring to anything, can you quickly tell me how to restore one database from a complete CPANEL compressed backup. Without exploring it, just the quick, concise, correct steps, please?
Before a have to be quick, concise, and correct, can I ask:
1. Is it just one database or just one table that you want to restore?
[edit]
2. Was your backup originally accomplished with phpMyAdmin?
