WordPress Featured Image Scaling

If I take a picture with my digital camera and add it as the featured image, that picture will scale perfectly even in the structured data featured image window. Let’s say the image is 1024 x 768 and it’s a jpg

But, if I create a image with Photoshop that is 1024 x 768 and it’s a jpg and add it as the featured image, the image will not scale and will go outside of the boundaries for the post featured image and the structured data featured image.

What is a solution to this in WordPress, or is it one that needs to be done when creating the image?
