wordpress gallery disappears on refresh

    i have a page on my personal website that is suppose to be dedicated to my artwork. i had it set the way i wanted it a few days ago but now when whenever i visit the page the gallery itself does not show up and i’m not sure why. whenever i make edits to the page the gallery reappears but when i hit refresh in any browser, or look at the page on other computers the gallery instantly disappears again.

    i am using a commercial theme called simfo with themify builder HOWEVER i don’t think this theme is causing my problem.

    here are the steps i’ve taken to fix my gallery problem so far.

    1)reinstalled wordpress 371 (or rather hitting the reinstall button on the updates page)
    2)i’ve deactivated all my plugins to see if that would change anything, nothing happened.
    3) tried using the gallery shortcode inside of a post that isn’t using the themify builder in any way. again no luck
    4) wait a day in case its a bug that needed changing(it was worth a try)

    i’m seriously hoping that it’s a simple button that i missed somewhere that’s cuasing my problem

    Do you have this issue on a default theme?

    Have you tried clearing and then deactivating your caching plugin?

    yes I’ve done those two things, had no luck. it appears to be a problem with the gallery shortcode itself

    There are no known issues with the Gallery or its shortcode, so this would seem to be specific to your site. Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Thirteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

    yes i did, i was able to create a gallery with a shortcode successfully with the twenty thirteen theme and no plugins activated. i was able to get back to my preferred theme with the gallery appearing properly too.

    the culprit was a plugin called frontpage category filter. when this is active it messes with the gallery shortcode for some odd reason
