WordPress in subdirectory, now adding new domain

Hi,

I’ve got a domain abc.co.in and installed wordpress in a subdirectory wp. So my general settings are the following:

– WordPress Address – abc.co.in/wp
– Site Address – abc.co.in

This works fine for me. However, after a while I got another domain abc.in which I forward to abc.co.in. Some search related plugins are causing issues only when accessed using the abc.in domain. And as it is, I am advertising the abc.in domain more and more and wish to change it to be the default. If I change the site address in the settings to abc.in will it give me the desired result? I don’t want to mess anything up and have downtime so I seek the advice of experts who might have done this before.
