When I use the /login link, which contains [pmpro_login], it loads a page which looks fine (within the theme style) but when entering username and password it redirects to the default wp-login page and you have to fill it in again. I can’t see a setting to change this.

I’m using LifterLMS so I’ve created a workaround according to https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/redirect-members/ which sends them to the LifterLMS dashboard. This seems to override the wp-login issue.

But ideally the PMPro login wouldn’t go to the wp-login page in the first place. Is here something I’m missing?

Hi there, thank you for reaching out to Paid Memberships Pro.

By default the PMPro login page sends a request to the wp-login.php page to authenticate the user that is trying to login.

When other plugins interact with that login process, there is a chance you will experience unexpected results.

LifterLMS likely has a redirect on the login page/process somewhere – if you can turn this off I’d recommend doing so – PMPro’s login process will then login on the first try.
