• Hey all,

I am trying to migrate a wordpress site from one host to another (hence the subdomain). I wanted to make sure everything was working correctly before pointing the wordpress URL to its main domain on the new host. In any case, I have backed up all of the database information, created it on the new host, copied all of the files and moved them to the new host etc… but for some reason no matter what I do, I keep getting a ton of plugin issues. It initially started out with SEO based plugin errors – recommendations were to delete the plugins and install them later. So I deleted the folder that was erroring.. and now I am getting further plugin related errors. Is there something specific that has to happen in terms of getting the plugins to play nicely when you move a site from one host to another?

    Thanks!

    Brad

  • Hi Brad,

You should make sure that the permissions and ownership of all WordPress files on the new host are properly set.

From what I can see, all of the permissions line up to how they were setup in the previous host environment. Both utilized cPanel and matched the permission level on each folder from what I could see. It seems to be erroring on specific functions/plugins.
