WordPress Move– website gone | ww.wp.xz.cn

So I was trying to transfer my wordpress website I created in Webmatrix. I bought a domain and a hosting service.

I decided to use WordPress Move to try and migrate my site. I backed up the files, and I chose to change domain names. I want to move my site from my localhost to the hosting server.

When I specified to change URL from the localhost to http://www.patchofdirtonline.com , I can no longer access WordPress!

I type in the URL, and nothing. The hosting company says it will take up to 48 hours to see anything– but I’m worried that I screwed up and have lost my site for good. How can I reverse changes done by WordPress Move if I can no longer access my site?!?

The domain is loading a blank index, so it’s entirely possible that whatever you used didn’t move any of the files over to the domain.

You’ll need to first change the URLs back following this guide: http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Changing_The_Site_URL

Then, once that’s fixed, follow this guide to properly move WordPress: http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Moving_WordPress

I put in the following code at the bottom of the wp-config.php sheet.

I no longer see a “no data” message and redirection to http://www.patchofdirtonline.com.

Instead, I see a blank screen. I cannot get to the WordPress login site administration page. Am I missing something still?

Probably. Remove what you added to wp-config.php and try the direct database method instead: http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database
