WordPress mp3 player not playing

For some reason, the WordPress mp3 player is not playing any of my files. If I view the file in the Media Library or put the audio into a post, the file will not play. If I go to the actual URL for the audio file it plays just fine. Each audio file is 40+ minutes in length so I thought that might have something to do with it but I shortened one file to only 5 min to no avail. I thought it might be the way the files are encoded so I encoded to mp3 with itunes to no avail.
I’ve tried a few plugins that “get the job done” but the process for placing the player into a post is quite cumbersome compared to just inserting the media file.

Any suggestions?
