• I’ve installed a clean installation of WordPress and activated multisite/network.

Everything went well AFAIK, but when creating a new site (I’ve made two for test purposes), they display a sort of default page from my host. The /wp-admin/ page 404s.

The blogs should be at: http://aliceis.feavercavill.com and http://forkingknife.feavercavill.com

The only thing I can think of is that I created a the wildcard subdomain after completing the WP Network installation.

The other clue is: the emails I receive notifying me of a new site being created come from an address other than the domain of my main installation. So instead of ‘mailed by’ showing in gmail as my domain (feavercavill.com), it’s coming from s16011257.onlinehome-server.info (which is a sort of unique sub-domain generated by 1&1 I believe).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Upon updating my wildcard subdomain in Plesk, I can now access the control panel and 404 pages (http://aliceis.feavercavill.com/foobar), but the index page seems to be getting overwritten by a Plesk default page.

Is there something that needs doing to ‘activate’ the blogs default page?
