• Dear all,

I am running in a bit of an issue. I have a wordpress site with multiple subsites, which are essentially used by my customers. I offer them a custom backend that I have developped.

Up to now, I always owned the domain names. For the record, all my domain names and my hosting are with Godaddy.

I am running into a bit of an issue. One of my customers has his own domain name with 1and1. I told him to redirect his domain name to the subsite. Then, I created an alias in Godaddy, mapped the subsite with WordPress MU Domain Mapping and finally I changed the site’s URL through the admin network editing page. Basic stuff.

However, I am running into a big problem. When I write the address using my client’s domain name registered with 1and1, I end up with Error 404s on all pages of that subsite.

Any one ever experienced that problem? How would you solve that problem? Is it possible to use multiple registrars?

This is not a good option for SEO. Also you don’t need to redirect also, all you have to tell them to do is to change the A record of their domain to point to the IP address of your host.
