WordPress noob needs help with website
-
Hello there, đź‘‹
I spent all day trying to make a website. I installed WordPress on Debian 11 using the Debian instructions. It is a local, well virtual machine, locally hosted from home. I signed up for a domain from Epik. I need your help, as soon as I changed my Site and WordPress URLs from “localhost” to Truthblast.Xyz. I still can edit the site via localhost/Wp-admin but cannot reach the website externally on [ redundant link removed ]. I attempted for hours to read the forums and see what I am doing wrong but many of the answers I see are around changing working URLs. I am sort of stuck. I did see somebody mention something about DNS, I am not sure what I need to do there, Do I need to do any port forwarding on my router? Thank you for your time. I am fairly technical but I’ve never been good at code. As you can see I can’t get rid of Epik’s landing page, as far as I know it should disappear as soon as things start working right. Warm Regards, Chris
PS I want the site local, I didn’t want VPS although I have used someone else’s VPS in the past and I really appreciate the management and ease of use.
