I hope this is the right place, but I was recently contacted that my blog is no longer searchable on WordPress Reader. I tested it out myself and saw that it’s trying to redirect to my temporary URL, something I haven’t had for over a year. I contacted my host and they said everything looks good on their end.

Is there any way to update the temporary URL to the permanent one? This seems to have been a recent change.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @dulivre

In order for posts to be searchable in the WordPress.com Reader, you need to have a paid Jetpack plan. The site that you contacted us about — http://www.dulibreblog.com — is on the free plan.

    You can read more here:

That said, I didn’t understand what you meant by redirecting to a temporary URL. Could you share that URL here so we can look into this more?

    Hi Bob,

I am curious about the first bit you mentioned because I have friends who are on the free version of JetPack as well, but their posts are visible on WordPress Reader. These are all self-hosted accounts.

I have a screenshot of the temporary domain but I don’t think I can share it here. I tried to follow my own blog a few days ago and got an pop up error that “Sorry, there was a problem following “http://box.5073.temp.domains/~dulivreb/feed. Please try again.” I thought it was a domain issue, but I updated my permanent URL (dulivreblog.com) within days of being self-hosted.

    Hi @dulivre

Thanks for sharing the URL. The same URL was in our system, and that’s why the Reader was not showing the posts from your site.

I have fixed this now, and you can access your site’s post in the Reader: https://wordpress.com/read/feeds/105699165

I am curious about the first

If you purchase one of our paid plans, then your posts will appear in Reader search results for matching search terms. More info is here: https://jetpack.com/support/reader

Not only that, you will also get some other paid benefits: https://jetpack.com/features/comparison

Let me know if you have further questions!
