WordPress remote posting debugging

I want to hook into some of the filters/actions that exist when using xml-rpc to create posts remotely.

Does anyone know if there are examples on how one would go about submitting posts remotely.

How someone would go about debugging a plugin that creates post remotely?

Any resources, links or suggestions would be appreciated.
