• The digital marketing company I worked with to develop my website has gone bankrupt. They didn’t bother to tell me they were closing shop. They were hosting my website and now my site is down. Nobody is returning my calls from that company. Regardless to say I am freaking out. They used a wordpress site, but I’m not sure if it was on WP servers. Is there a way for me to contact WP and find out if by any chance it was on their servers. Please help!

    We don’t host sites here.

All we do here is develop, distribute, and support the WordPress software, all for free, and all by volunteers.

Do you remember the URL of the site? We might be able to use that to at least point you in the right direction.

Based on https://www.whoishostingthis.com/?q=trophyplus.net it’s hosted with Yahoo Web Hosting, and they can be reached at https://help.smallbusiness.yahoo.net/s/

I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks, James. But I’m not sure if that is correct. We were hosting our website with Yahoo web hosting and then transferred the hosting to the new digital marketing firm that went bankrupt – Adcom8 in Santa Ana, CA. On or about July 2017, we forwarded the domain from Yahoo web hosting to Adcom 8 and I don’t think they used Yahoo web hosting. Is there anyway to find out if there was another company hosting the site since July 2017 through December 2017? Thanks.

The domain is still pointing to Yahoo’s name servers, so there’s only 4 possibilities:

    1. The marketing firm continued your hosting with Yahoo.

    2. The marketing firm moved the site to their own hosting with Yahoo.

    3. The domain expired and reverted to Yahoo’s ownership.

    4. The marketing firm directed the domain back to Yahoo’s hosting just before going out of business, which seems very unlikely.

Either way, I recommend starting with Yahoo.
