Could you try to access your stats via WordPress.com?

If you can access your stats there, the problem might be linked to a plugin conflict on your site. Could you try to disable all other plugins, one at a time, and let me know if you find a conflict?

    Thanks your response.
I could access my stats via WordPress.com.
As I was deactivating plugins, I got to Jetpack and mistakenly deactivated it. When I reactivated it, it wouldn’t–and still won’t–allow me to do the next step, which is to click on the WordPress button to connect. Could this be why I not only can’t access stats but also have found out that subscribers to my site aren’t getting their emails about my posts?

UPDATE: After trying several times to connect with the WordPress button, with the continuously rolling circle going nowhere, I got this message:
Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host. SSL connection timeout
    Can you advise?

    Thanks for the extra details.

Can you please try installing the Jetpack Compatibility Plugin so we can see some additional information from your site?

    1) Download the plugin from http://plugins.svn.ww.wp.xz.cn/jetpack/branches/jetpack-compatibility-test.zip
    2) Upload the plugin to your site via Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New.
    3) Activate the plugin and go to Plugins -> Jetpack Compatibility Test.
    4) Click the “Select All” button.
    5) Send us the test results via this contact form:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

    Thanks!
