WordPress update 3.5.1 problems with Suffusion

Since upgrading to wordpress 3.5.1 my site now has several problems that i can’t seem to fix.
I am currently using Suffusion theme version 4.0.4.

1: My Featured Slider has disappeared. The box is still there but no slideshow or even static images are visible. It is just blank/ empty box. I have checked all the featured contnet slider settings and it is enabled and seems fine.

2: The images in my posts are stretched vertically. I have managed to fix this but by shrinking image sizes which is not ideal as they were fine that size before.

3: I uploaded an image to insert into a widget and the colours were different to the original. Like saturation levels had been increased dramatically.

Does anyone know what is wrong and what I could do to fix this?
I have a basic knowledge of wordpress but am by no means an expert. I don;t think I can upgrade my suffusion theme without losing all the customizations I have made.
