    Dear all,

    I have a question, my website was done by a person, now he is not helping me anymore with the website, meaning I have to change the content, at this moment this is not a problem.

    It is already a long time when I start up wordpress I receive following message –“” WordPress 3.8.2 is available! Please notify the site administrator.–“”

    As I am now the administrator can I update wordpress ? is there a risk to losse all contents?

    You can update, but as always, there is a risk of something going wrong. The risk is pretty small, but no matter now small you should always make sure that you have a full back up of all files on your site, plus the database. That way if the worst does happen you can revert to that version of the site and at least have it still work.
