Hi webmasterglf,
Thanks for your message.
Someone else had this problem too and it was because of an SMTP plugin not working.
Can you take a look at this thread and see if it help?
If not, it might be worth adding an SMTP plugin such as Postman SMTP anyway to rule out a hosting change that you’re not aware of.
Thanks,
Jack
Saw that thread and actually posted there too. BNWP will send a test e-mail but does not send an e-mail when a new post or comment is made (was working before latest WordPress update last week and Nothing else changed with the notifications that where in place before WP update). Any help/comments is appreciated, thanks again
I have a similar issue with WP 4.6, however i did not had it previously installed. I press the send the test email button and an e-mail is sent, but with a new post notification it does not send an email. i have email-log installed, the test email is successfully logged but when i create a new post (normal post with no plugin) no log entry appears.
Hi to you both,
Have just re-tested the notification to be sure and I can confirm that it does work as expected.
It sounds like a plugin conflict or issue with how the host is sending out email to me.
The test email is sent differently to other notifications which is why it might be working fine for you.
I’d recommend trying two things first:
* Ensure you’re sending out a post and not a custom post type.
* Install and set-up an SMTP plugin to see if that rectifies the issue for you.
If those don’t help then you’ll need to make your way through this help document to narrow down the potential cause of the issue.
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks,
Jack
Hi,
thanks for your answer, i found out that the plugin causing the problem is Backup Guard
since i dont use it all the time i’ll let it disabled until i need it again.
Thank you very much
Hi impoe,
Glad it’s now working for you.
If you like the plugin and the support, please feel free to leave an honest review.
Thanks,
Jack
Jack,
Thanks for the reply helping IMPOE. But, BNWP is still not working (except for the test e-mail feature). Nothing changed on the site except for installing the WP upgrade last week. Do you think the WP upgrade is the problem (note: the plugin page does state – Warning: This plugin has not been tested with your current version of WordPress.) Thanks again for your help.
Hi webmasterglf,
Can you confirm that you followed the advice above and have installed the SMTP plugin and/or made your way through the support document linked above?
Thanks,
Jack
