• Hello

I recently had my Newspaper TagDiv theme updated and it looks like WP updated at same time to 5.4.2.

Now I am forced to use Gutenberg and if I install Classic Editor it doesn’t work effectively as Link Options are not available and any image galleries I upload appear as a gallery but if I click on them the images don’t show, Yoast has issues etc. I just don’t like it and need to revert to an earlier version of WP.

Is there any way to revert to the former WordPress release I was using without losing the content I have created over the last two days while wrestling with the update?

WordPress 5.4.2 was SECURITY and maintenance release. It fixes a few security related issues that affected all previous versions.

So, if I were you, I wouldn’t rollback any previous version.

Have tried using “Classic” block in Gutenberg? It’s looks and works just like the old classic editor

Yes I tried that Classic block in Gutenberg but it also had same issues. I have rolled back to 5.2.7 and will probably go up to 5.3 for now because the issues do not allow me to manage my site effectively. I can’t upload news in a prompt manner using the Gutenberg and it disables Yoast and also my image options.

One thing that has happened in the rollback is I can now not see the Add Gallery options. When I go to insert media I can add one photo or offer a TagDiv slide who’s but I don’t have the add gallery – mosaic, tiles, thumbnails, square, slideshow options normally. Do you know how I re-instate that?

I am going to update everything now to highest level, most recent updates.
