I have received the following message:

Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public

To correct this issue, move the .htaccess file from wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager to /homepages/44/d366649253/htdocs/app415987434/wp-content/backup-db

and I’m afraid I have no idea how to perform this function, where to find the .htaccess file in the first place, let alone move it to the homepages backup if I knew where that was.

Please can somoeone help with this so that I can update WordPress?

    Thanks
    Sue

You need to use FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides). Just ensure that the ftp software is configured to show all files as many ftp clients hide .htaccess files by default.

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I have contacted my host company to ensure that the ftp software is properly configured and hope that I can then resolve this issue.
Thanks very much foro your help. Sue
