WordPress User Linked with outside Database

Hi, I’m trying to get into some completely new territory for me.

I am used to having wordpress sites with normal users that have to sign up to get into members only portions of the website.

Now here comes my problem – I am planning on creating a website for my school where people can search a Job Board. That’s easy enough but I only want temple students to be able to log in with the school’s main website login and password.

I understand if I need access to the school’s main database but if someone can look at it and see what I need to ask for to link it with my WordPress site.

Here is my school’s main login but they have it across multiple different websites that they run: https://tuportal3.temple.edu/cp/home/displaylogin
